How much does it cost?

Nothing – unless it’s one of the much larger events that costs us money.

Your only cost is the cost of the ingredients for your meal, and the booze or drink you bring.

The economics are tantalising – you cook a simple dish for 4, yet eat whatever you want from an amazing array of ten, twenty or a hundred dishes in front of you (depending on the size of the event).

How much should I spend on the meal?

Whatever you like. No one will ask. Spend what you can afford and cook what makes you happy. Oysters are great, and so is freeganism.

How do you make money?

We don’t. We’re a non-profit organisation. All events are free unless they have high costs involved. We charge only at cost and none of us make a penny from this. As we grow, we have increasing costs (servers, mailhosts, possibly a web developer), so we’re figuring out how to raise those funds.

Why do you do it?

Because we love it.

Because there’s no better way to properly meet people than over dinner conversation.

Because we love learning about the world around us, and the world within.

Because the thought that “cities are where we go to get lonely together” is tragic and wrong.

Because it’s a really simple way to make a great change in the way we all live.
